Today marks the 30th anniversary of that fateful day when I departed, tearfully, from Shannon Airport, to begin my life in the New World.
There will be festivities later on today, that I can promise.

No regrets?
None. Though I have yet to attain U.S. citizenship, I have nothing but gratitude for the opportunities that living in the U.S. has given me. I feel blessed.

And who would have guessed your sister would head out to Canada 19 days later. Mom and Dad must have been shell shocked. They did well to cope with it all.
And only six months later, you would walk into my kitchen and gamefully clean mushrooms according to my instructions on the first night we met. I'll bet that's the last time you cleaned a mushroom. But tonight, we dine again!
